Find answers to some of the questions you may have regarding Tyler's House here. We’ve addressed some of the most common ones below, but if something isn’t clear feel free to contact us. We’ll be happy to assist you in any way possible.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

  1. Homeowners in:

    • Location: Glendale, Peoria, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Goodyear, El Mirage, Surprise, Sun City, Sun City West & surrounding areas in Arizona 

    • Population: Low-Income Families (TANF), Families Fostering Children, Low-Income Residents, Seniors with a Fixed Income & Individuals with chronic illness or disability.

  2. Have a home repair need that significantly affects overall well-being and safety, including social determinants of health. Examples include: Unsafe Electrical, a broken A/C, a home without a working shower or toilet, etc. 

  3. Must show an inability to cover the cost. (Up to 150% of FPL)

HOW MUCH OF MY DONATION DIRECTLY SUPPORTS THE CAUSE?

 

Tyler's House team members and board members are all volunteers & are not paid for their service.  Therefore 100% of donations go directly to support the cause. If Tyler's House becomes too large to manage with our volunteer team, we may consider hiring employees in the future.

  • Board-vetted and approved construction partners are licensed, bonded, and agree to complete work at a discounted rate.

IS FUNDING GUARANTEED?

​

Funding is available because of the generosity of our donors & partners, therefore assistance is limited to availability.  

 

IS MY DONATION TAX DEDUCTIBLE?

​

YES! As a non-profit foundation (IRS 93-2585473) your donations are tax deductible! AND... Because Tyler's House is Recognized as a Qualified Charitable Organization (QCO) (#22645) your donation is eligible for a tax credit! See The Arizona Department of Revenue Site for additional information regarding this tax benefit. 

 

WHY SHOULD I DONATE TO TYLER'S HOUSE?

We've all seen Go Fund Me's or families trying to gather funds to help. That's great, but the benefit of giving to Tyler's House is that you know your donation will go exactly where you want it to & it will be tax deductible. 

 

I KNOW SOMEONE THAT NEEDS HELP, CAN I COORDINATE A FUNDRAISER WITH TYLER'S HOUSE?

Yes! As long as the individual meets our criteria, we'd love to partner with you! Reach out to us to discuss it!

 

HOW DOES PAYMENT HAPPEN & WHO COMPLETES THE REPAIRS?

​

Tyler's House partners with reputable, skilled & generous contractors who agree to complete the repairs at a significantly discounted rate. Tyler's House pays the contractors directly so that there is no question about how the donation was spent.

 

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE QUALITY OF THE REPAIRS?

​

Tyler's House partners with licensed, bonded, and vetted contractors. Each contractor is independently responsible for providing quality workmanship. Tyler's House does not take responsibility for the repairs.

WHAT TYPES OF SERVICES WOULD NOT BE COVERED?

Tyler's House does not currently contract with a roofer or pest control organization. Repairs that do not pose an immediate risk to safety, health, or housing security will not be considered.
